River Scenes
The exact locations on postcards of the Huron River are difficult to identify. We have placed all of the Huron River scenes into a single group even though they may be out of our "lake journey" sequence. In many cases, we have given our best guess as to the location of the scene.
Riverside. Lakeland Mich., circa 1910’s. Two women sit in a boat moored along the shore, the older one sitting on a stool, the younger waiting to row. On shore, a pump on a tripod sits. The writers of the card labeled the pump, “well,” in case there was any doubt.
The following views are most likely of the river between Strawberry Lake and Base Lake.
