Dexter Postcards

Greetings from Dexter, Mich., High School, circa early 1900’s. Moving eastward up the hill on Ann Arbor Street from the business district, you can see the old high school in Dexter. The first Union School was built in 1857. The view here is of the Second Union School, built in 1887. The clock in the tower was donated by Mrs. Samuel Dexter in 1892.

High School, Dexter, Mich., circa 1930’s. The high school of the thirties was built at the top of the hill on Ann Arbor Street in 1936. When a new high school was built in later decades, this building became Copeland Elementary School. The building now serves as the Dexter Senior Center and the Board of Education offices.
