Lakeland Postcards

A short walk west from the depot and pavilions along the shoreline of Zukey Lake was the Lakeland Hotel. In the early years, it was also known as “Aunt Mag’s” It burned in 1984. Here, the walkway is shown on a Private Mailing Card postmarked 1908.

Postmarked 1906, this card is an example of a Private Mailing Card. In 1898 Congress granted private publishers the right to Issue Private Mailing Cards. PMC’s had undivided backs, intended for addresses only.
