Dexter Postcards

Mill Pond Dexter Mich., circa early 1900’s. An early real photo image of the Mill Pond shows the pond looking upstream, away from the dam. Barely visible near the barn on the opposite side of the pond, you can see Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Huron River, Dexter, Mich., dated 1962. Look back towards the bridge to see the railroad bed beyond the bridge.

The dam that created the Mill Pond deteriorated through the years, and was removed in 2008 when the bridge over Mill Creek was renovated. The park on the north side of the bridge was formerly named Warrior Creek Park. It was renamed Mill Creek Park when work began extending the park to the south side of the bridge, on the reclaimed Mill Pond wetlands.
