Dexter Postcards
C. St Dexter, circa early 1900’s. This view gives a slightly different view of the village. around the curve on the left side of the view, you can see the main business section on Ann Arbor Street. The street in the foreground is what is now called Central Street. A small white terrier guards the front of the house on the right.
Handwritten “Home Sweet Home,” postmarked 1908. I have identified this postcard view as being in the village of Dexter because of its postmark and references in the text of the message, but its specific location is a mystery to me. Barely visible on the right side of the card, through the back yard of the house, is a large commercial building made of stone that may be the old Union School.
